Mocha Mocha opened in May of 1991. A cozy neighbourhood spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. The menu is simple and well balanced with flavourful & nutritious dishes. Items ranging from light vegetarian choices to spicy creations infused with Latin American and African flavours.
Mocha Mocha has a casual, warm, and welcoming atmosphere for enjoying cafe lattes, fresh juices, smoothies, and an assortment of desserts, with reasonable prices. Popular items are Chicken Enchiladas, Spicy Chick-Pea Guacamole, Vegetarian Club, African Chicken Stew, Ham & Cheese Crepes, Fish Tacos, Warm Brown Rice Salad, Mediterranean, and Nicoise Salad.
Owners Marijan and Mercedes Tripkovic have blended their multi-cultural heritage along with their experience in the hospitality industry to create Mocha-Mocha. They owned and operated “Palachinke”, a successful Dutch-style pancake house in Lima, Peru. Mercedes participated in the 1989 Canadian Culinary Masters competition as part of the Royal York Hotel culinary team winning a silver medal for her individual entry. In 1991 her recipe ”Butternut in Crescendo” won the Grand Prize in a recipe competition sponsored by Kraft Foods. She was also a consultant for the development & implementation of recipes for Movenpick Marche Restaurants in Toronto, Montreal and Boston.
